FWM has a unique collection of Artist Boxes containing process materials for every Artist-in-Residence. These special boxes hold materials and conceptual explorations that document the many aspects of experimentation and project development. Now we turn the spotlight on you to create your own “Self-Portrait Box.” How can the color wheel, cloth and hand-made objects communicate aspects of your inner self? Explore color swatch printing on fabric to find the perfect color palette that defines you, stitch handmade objects and place them in a “Self-Portrait Box.” Bring other small personal objects to place in your box. Light refreshments will be served. All materials provided.

Major support for Process and Practice: 40 Years of Experimentation is provided by the Coby Foundation, Ltd., with additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Joy of Giving Something, Inc., the Lenore G. Tawney Foundation, and the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation.

Major support of FWM is provided by the Marion Boulton “Kippy” Stroud Foundation. FWM receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Additional support is provided by the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, Agnes Gund, and the Board of Directors and Members of The Fabric Workshop and Museum.
